Fiber: mohair & alpaca.

All fiber may have some vegetative matter (VM). I do my best to pick out as much hay and other VM as I process the fiber from one stage to the next.

Mohair is the fiber that an angora goat produces. Some of the angora goats have awesome ringlets which are great to use as doll hair. There is a considerable amount of mohair where the ringlets are not maintained but this fiber is just as soft. When I process the angora fleece, I will save the best ringlets that can be used for doll hair and the rest will be picked to the cloud stage or carded to either spin or to use for felting projects.

Alpaca fiber can be used for spinning and for felting. I have both huacaya and suri alpacas. The suri fiber can also be used as doll hair. This would be more a fringe type of hair. Both types of alpacas are awesome.

When I first started my fiber adventure, my herd included cashmere goats. Cashmere is the softest of all the fiber, but I have found that the angora goats are a lot easier to take care of as they are quite a bit more mellow than the cashmere goats.
